The Kingsbury hotel is an iconic luxury hotel located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We had the opportunity to stay at this luxurious hotel for two nights, and it was such an incredible experience. The Kingsbury is located in the City Center of Colombo; between the World Trade Center, Dutch Hospital, and Galle Face Green. Shopping, nightlife, dining, and entretainment are just a 5 minute walk away. The luxurious hotel also offers a variety of activities, dining, and entretainment; you can spend the whole day at the hotel without needing to go outside for food. There are seven restaurants and bars inside the hotel, we experienced the afternoon high tea at Gourmet Station, dinner at CÉ LA VI Lounge & Restaurant, and breakfast buffet at Harbour Court.
Harbour Court: International Buffet
You can find the longest breakfast buffet spread among restaurants in Colombo at Harbour Court, it was the best way to start our day!
Hight Tea at Gourmet Station
The High Tea at the Gourmet Station is where you can have some snacks paired with your favorite afternoon tea. There is a buffet featuring a variety of sweet & sour snacks, including all types of drinks; hot, cold, and even cocktails. It is open from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, after you can enjoy live entretainment at the Honey Beach Club located right next to it.
CÉ LA VI Lounge & Restaurant
To end up the day you can dine at the CÉ LA VI Lounge & Restaurant located at the top of The Kingsbury. It offers gorgeous views of the city and the Indian Ocean. It is the perfect place to watch the sunset while enjoying your favorite drink. Cé La Vi restaurant offers modern asian cuisine, premium cocktails and beverages.
Senses Spa
Senses Spa is located at the underground floor, it’s the place where you can de-stress, relax, and enjoy the different variety of treatments the Spa offers. We experienced the aromatic 1 hour massage which was very relaxing. There is a shower inside the massage room where you can take a bath after the massage to clean up the oil. Once the massage was over, there was an after-massage tea waiting for us at the Senses Spa Lounge.
Birthday Surprise
We stayed at The Kingsbury during my 24th birthday, I had such a nice time and felt very spoiled. After we came back from our massage at the Senses Spa, there was a birthday cake, flowers, and some chocolates at the room. It was a total surprise to me because I didn’t told anybody it was my birthday, but I assume they knew about it when they asked for our passports at check-in. There was also a small note wishing me happy birthday from the staff at the hotel, it was such a beautiful surprise.
